Graduates

Our graduate trainee auditor programme has been carefully designed to offer you something very different. From day one you’ll be out on site, meeting people and gathering information. You’ll interview client staff to gain an understanding of their systems, carrying out analysis, reviews and sometimes fraud inspections. And by working alongside experienced auditors, you’ll gain valuable skills in auditing some of Scotland’s largest councils, health boards and government departments.

We want to help you develop a career that’s varied and worthwhile, as well as stimulating and rewarding. To do this we offer structured induction training, and you’ll receive full sponsorship leading to your chartered accountancy and audit qualification.

The CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) qualification is recognised across the whole of the UK and is especially valued by the public sector since it specialises in public sector accounting methodology. Additionally it is one of the best employer sponsored schemes in Scotland and we have a strong track record of our trainees moving into permanent auditor roles. In most cases, a senior auditor role, following satisfactory performance can lead to starting salaries of £35,391, and include a lease car.

When you start studying towards your accountancy qualification with CIPFA you will be given support every step of the way with study leave, as well as financial help for travel and other study expenses. We also give you the chance to take part in a trainee networking opportunities provided for and run by trainees themselves each year. In all, we bring together a healthy mix of study, real work and interesting people, to give you the chance to achieve your ambitions with us.
